The Dick In A Box Boys Are Back!!!
We've got a new look to go along with a new website.
Here is what the top of my newscast looked like Tuesday night, when we debuted the new graphics and music. :)
Nerdy stuff, but I like the new brighter look with palm trees. Very Miami. :) It's the same "look" that the west coast stations have.

Poor, poor Jessica Simpson.
We saw her singing live at the Chili Cookoff, and since then the photo of her in those horrendous jeans has been everywhere. Even President Obama made a comment about how he was cropped out of a pic on the cover of US Weekly to make room for "Jessica and her weight problem"... eek! (but kinda hilarious)
But check out the article in a Miami Herald blog today... Mom vs Dad jeans.
Hilarious.
And one of our anchors recently returned from Europe, and wrote the funniest blog about her trip. Enjoy! :)

My sister recently tagged me on a Facebook Note (I forget those even exist sometimes)... but it was basically like a chain letter. You write 20 random things about yourself, tag 20 friends, and read what their lists say. I didn't really want to make the list on Facebook, so I'm writing it here... and maybe, when we're all bored at work Monday morning, I'll have other lists to read from all of you. :) My sister will be getting this list... just not via LJ. :)
1. I was born with curly hair, it disappeared when my mom cut it, then magically reappeared after puberty.
2. I can wiggle my ears.
3. I've never thrown up from being drunk (but I've had wicked headaches)
4. Throughout the course of my childhood I had 4 dogs, 2 cats and several birds... and now all those animals make me sneeze. :(
5. I was once in the audience of the Maury Povich show (and no, unfortunately, it was not a paternity test show!)
6. I ran into Nicole Kidman in the teeniest waiting area of a restaurant bathroom in NYC.
7. I broke two different toes, on different feet, within 4 months of each other in college.
8. I like to call my brother and sister 'booger', interchangeably.
9. I would've slept through Hurricane Andrew if my parents hadn't woken me up.
10. I didn't learn to speak English until kindergarten.
11. I got on my first airplane when I was 16.
12. I can't snap my fingers. Seriously, no sound comes out.
13. I got glasses in the 4th grade, and contacts in the 6th.
14. I had my first kiss at age 12.
15. I could survive on milk and cereal.
16. I have 6 siblings scattered across two households, but I'm the only whole-sibling.
17. I have to hug a pillow in my sleep (I have a teeny one I use)
18. As a little girl I once shoved a penny up my nose, ended up in the ER, and my mom was on poop patrol until it re-appeared.
19. I was born with a mole on the side of my right thigh. I had it removed in high school after reading too much about skin cancer and getting scared.
20. I always find myself speaking to babies in Spanish.

Who needs bedazzling when you can just get your Betty ready?! LOL.
Last Friday wil.i.am debuted this song on Oprah... I downloaded it on iTunes this weekend... jammed to it on the way to work today, and haven't been able to get it out of my head ever since. So I thought I'd share the wealth. Enjoy. :)
If you ever wanted to know more about the 'cuban' story... at least the one going on in 2008... take a look at the exclusive report done by one our reporters. He did an amazing job, and wrote a great article for our website. I get chills everytime I watch it.

Regardless of your political affiliation... this is a great video. Very well made. Besides-- who can turn away from celebrity involvement?
